General Evaluation

Here are some of the images i referenced in depicting my digital image of the General. I wanted to convey the idea that he was a proud man, this was done by showing it as a portrait. I also wanted him to appear wise so therefore he has a thoughtful pose. He also has a blank but stern look on his face to imply his no nonsense attitude and coldness. The images i referenced are that of the typical nazi portraits of the time that always seem so false to me. I wanted these false feelings to be associated with the General

The General finished painting

tank evaluation

So yes the tank concept has been finished. The sky and background is heavily influenced by that of Mordor in lord of the rings as the pictures show. The idea is that the 'General' within his tank is leading a legion of troops through europe invading. The city in the background is that of the city in my other concept. The idea is that the sky is burning on fire indicating where the nazis came from

Out of fear of getting bored of bricks i turned my attention to the sky. this will be useful in knowing exactly where the light will hit as opposed to guessing.

Level of Inspiration

Tower Section

Here is the church tower image that I'm referencing in my city piece. I've also included the tower that I'm using as inspiration. Being a fan of sniping in games I've always looked for iconic church towers etc in games from which to snipe from. Medal of Honor Frontline was one of the main games to employ this in my childhood. It was made alongside the saving private ryan film so Ive found a picture of the church tower that started it all for me. I think its an iconic image that must be in any World War II games environment. (the bottom 1 is from the saving private ryan set)

Images contd.

Under 2 weeks left...good or bad thing?

Dissertation is coming along well and over 5000 words written. So its all good news. Here are images that I have been referencing for my new ruined city concept. Some have been recreated in the scene as they were exactly the look i wanted.

Back In Action

Jus spent all day sketching this scene concept out (sketching on a comp is tedious especially at 300 ppi) It depicts the ruined city that we see in the background of the tank shot. This is a result of the German invasion that swept through it. Its gona be set in an eerie blue colouring under moonlight, as i feel this gets across the feeling of emptyness.
